Eric Clapton – “His version of Danny Boy is the best I have ever heard bar none.”
The Boston Globe – “The dynamic voice of Tommy Fleming who soared on every song.”
New York Times – “The success of this concert was Tommy’s classic interpretation of The Leaving of Liverpool and The Auld Triangle – he had the audience on its feet”
(Celtic Connection October 2016 Denver) It was an epic night in Colorado Irish history when the festive crowd paraded from Nallen’s Irish Pub up the 16th Street Mall to the Paramount Theatre. It was in the fall of 1993 and spirits where high as Irish American organizations and fans poured into their seats to hear the legendary Irish songwriter/producer/musician Phil Coulter and his band. History was about to be made for a young Irish man from Sligo who was ready to make his American debut as guest vocalist. When Tommy Fleming took to the stage and belted out “The Auld Triangle” the audience was stunned. At intermission
concert goers talked about the tingle of goosebumps and that they just heard one of the best Irish voices ever.
Since his Denver debut Tommy Fleming has gone on to be one of Ireland’s top entertainers with over 5 million Youtube hits and over 3 million album sales worldwide and is described by many as the “Voice of Ireland”. He turns each song into his own with his own unique and powerful style touching emotions in you that only music can reach. Tommy is famous for his own arrangement of “Danny Boy”, “Isle of Inisfree” and “Hard Times” all songs that you know and love but you have never heard them until you hear Tommy Fleming’s versions. He also covers songs from “You Raise Me Up” to “Bridge over Troubled Waters”, “From a Distance” and “Something Inside So Strong” along with many more contemporary numbers.
While Tommy’s style of singing may be difficult to classify, fans use such words as “deeply emotional, romantic and sincere” to describe the feelings it evokes. One reviewer described his music as falling into a genre of Symphonic Pop that still awaits a name. Tommy’s unique talent has brought him worldwide recognition with several sell-out tours in Ireland, the UK, the US, Australia and Japan and he is now critically acclaimed to be one of the worlds’ finest singers of his generation.
A Tommy Fleming concert is a musical experience not to be missed with one song more haunting than the other. He has a universal appeal to all ages and backgrounds with a fan base that is growing stronger worldwide year by year. Hear Tommy yourself when he finally returns to Denver with his band for a concert at the Soiled dove, Friday October 28. (Yes Halloween costumes are welcome)
