This year’s Blarney features a dynamic lineup of entertainment for all:
The Elders – The Elders are a dynamic 6-piece internationally-touring American Celtic folk-rock group based in Kansas City. Founded by Irish native Ian Byrne (available for interviews), their unique blend of American and Celtic rock showcases varying musical styles, textures and broad harmonies. They entertain with socially conscious and vibrant lyrics about history and life in the United States, Ireland and beyond! https://www.eldersmusic.com/
The MileHighlanders Pipe Band, Denver’s Alternative Pipe Band Experience – Formed in 2005 at a local Denver pub, they provide a musical alternative to the traditional bagpipe performance. The MileHighlanders bring together an experienced group of innovative pipers and drummers to win over audiences with a unique show of custom tunes and unusual instruments. https://milehighlanders.com/
Reed School of Irish Dance – Championship Irish dancer Zanthia Reed opened the Reed School of Irish Dance in Denver in 1998. Reed performances feature exciting and intricate jigs and reels guaranteed to get your feet tapping and your hands clapping! http://www.reedschool.com
Denver’s All-Star Irish Session Players – Traditional Irish music “sessions” have an element of spontaneity as Celtic fiddlers, pipers, guitarists, etc. meet up to play live music. This Irish session will carry on the cultural tradition by maintaining the connections to musical customs going back centuries. The Irish session is alive and well in several Celtic bars in the Denver metro area, including coming together for a special session at Blarney on Belmar!
“We are proud to kick off metro Denver’s first St. Patrick’s Day festival in Belmar and bring such nationally and internationally renowned talent to Lakewood every year. With music, dancing, food, drink and some of the best shopping in the area, we know this annual event will be fun for the whole family” said Tom Quinn, Executive Director of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District and its nonprofit arm, Alameda Connects.
