Bangers and Blunders A.K.A. Shannon Muenchow & Graeme Danforth gave a concert Oct 14 as part of the “Celtic Night..” series at the Mercury Cafe in Downtown Denver (22nd & California). Shannon & Graeme played to an appreciative crowd for over and hour including encore. The Duo served up a tasty set of reels, jigs, and hornpipes on fiddles and bouzouki. Afterwards, there was a session from 7-9pm
“The Merc” is an iconic Denver restaurant and community center opened by Marilyn Megenity in the center of town in 1990 on Halloween.
On June 22, 2021 the Mercury Cafe was sold to Danny Newman, Christy Kruzick, and Austin Gayer who plan to continue to carry the Mercury tradition into the future. The Mercury serves locally-sourced vegetables, fruits, grains, meat, and bar selections, augmented with fair trade imports. They offer an organic menu with meat/fish, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free choices and treasure local farmers, ranchers, vintners and distillers.
The Celtic Night at Mercury will continue to highlight top Colorado talent in the future. We will post and put on our “Celtic Events/gigs list” as soon as we get word from the Merc.
The next Mercury Cafe Celtic Night is scheduled for November 25 @ 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm with SKY & MARTY in concert 5:30 – 6:30PM Session 7-9PM Free
