Celts Rise! The 12th Annual Spanish Peaks International
Celtic Music Festival is Up and Running!
The 2016 Spanish Peaks Celtic Fest schedule is set, and with the likes of Altan, High Kings, and The Outside Track debuting and a bunch of returning veteran performers and instructors (Chris Newman and Maire Ni Chathasaigh, Robbie O’connell, Máirtín de Cógáin, Jerry O’Sullivan and Ed Miller to name a few) returning, there is quite the buzz about the upcoming last weekend in September. Scheduled September 22 -25 are concerts, classes, demonstrations, retreats, sessions, and workshops in traditional music, dance, and storytelling . Some are free and others are accessed with a paid ticket, but many of the events are in venues with limited seating so check-out the Schedule now at www.CelticMusicFest.com and reserve your spot at one of the most magical gathering of Trad enthusiasts this side of the Atlantic.
Located in the beautiful and historical “Spanish Peaks Country” in the south central Colorado Rockies, the festival draws support from the hospitable folks of the Huerfano County communities Gardner, La Veta, Walsenburg and Cuchara. Many festival attendees are from out of County and State and turn the annual Fall fling into a mini vacation with the unique opportunity to mingle with and appreciate the performers, educators and visitors from all over the world. Outside of the festival there are an abundance of thing to do from hiking, fishing, golfing, scenic car rides along the “Highway of Legends”, train rides up the pass, or get up early and drive out to the Great Sand Dunes!
