Blarney on Belmar to Debut in Lakewood
Belmar in Lakewood joins the St. Patrick’s Day season festivities with a brand-new event! Blarney on Belmar will be held on Saturday, March 7 from 1-4 PM at the Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood at Belmar! The event, co-sponsored by the non-profit Alameda Connects, the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District and the Belmar Hyatt House brings the lively sounds of the Irish season to Belmar with bagpipers, Irish step dancers, rousing pub rock music and a bit of history thrown in.
Tom Quinn, former St. Patrick’s Day Parade historian and Irish Festival Entertainment Chairman, is the executive Director for Alameda Connects. “Its time to bring the fun of the St. Patrick’s Day season to Belmar with traditional Irish music and dance”, said Quinn, “we’re proud to bring this great new event to Belmar working with our friends at the Hyatt House and Belmar management.”
Haley Carbone, Sales Coordinator with the Hyatt says, “We are so excited to be able to work with Alameda Connects and host their first ever Blarney on Belmar here at the Hyatt House in Lakewood! It’s going to be great fun for friends and family and a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Let’s make this first year one to remember!”
Blarney on Belmar kicks off at 1 PM on Saturday March 7 at the Hyatt House, 7310 W. Alaska Drive with words of welcome from the legendary Dennis Gallagher, former Denver City Auditor and City Councilman, historian and Irish storyteller. The event features bagpipe music by the Milehighlanders, known as “Denver’s alternative pipe band experience”, and Irish step dancing by Celtic Steps, one of Denver’s premier Irish dance schools. The popular Chancer’s Hooley Irish pub rock band will round out the festivities.
The Hyatt House bar will be open and offer drinks for purchase and a food truck will provide food for sale. Dancing, storytelling and impromptu singing are strongly encouraged! For more information contact Alameda Connects at 303-274-1807 or email [email protected]
