Congratulations to the Winners of the Second Annual R.L. Stevenson Competition at Denver School of the Arts
For the second year now, members of the Scottish St. Andrew Society of Colorado have partnered with the Theatre Department at the Denver School of the Arts to present the Heather Ale: A Galloway Legend by Robert Louis Stevenson Competition for juniors and seniors at the school. Ken McIntosh, one of three judges (Sharon Rafferty and Sanford Campbell) said, “We were looking forward to the second year of the competition because they had already experienced just how talented these students are. It is really fun to see them bring Stevenson’s work to life!” McIntosh added, “Many thanks to Ms. Shawn Hann who is the Director of Theatre at DSA for helping to make this fun opportunity available to the talented kids at DSA.”
Ms. Shawn said that the DSA student were excited to be involved with the competition, “When the 2019 competition was scheduled and kids who had participated last year indicated that they were looking forward to doing it again.”
The winners were awarded cash prizes and award certificates, and they added to their performing experience in preparation for professional careers.
