The Denver Gaels are looking good entering their 20th year of presenting Irish sports to Colorado. They have new team uniforms imported from the prestigious O’Neills International Sports Company in Dublin, Ireland. The new team jersey is designed to represents the Rocky Mountains, and are primarily navy blue with red, white and gray. There are different highlights distinguishes the women’s jersey from men’s. “The Jerseys are very popular with our teams,” said Shay Dunne of the Gaels, “We are getting more and more fans of the team asking us if and where they can purchase our jersey.” Dunne said that he knows that the Gaels won’t be able to compete with the Denver Broncos in team merchandise sales, but he would love to see fans showing up at events and Gaels games with team jerseys. He said that among the Gaels fans who ordered team Jerseys is Kevin Doyle who now plays for the Colorado Rapids. Doyle is form County Wexford and has played on the Republic of Ireland national team, among others, and signed on with Colorado in spring 0f 2015. “Doyle bought five jerseys!” gushed Dunne with excitement, “some of the lads went to his home the other day and did a presentation and took a few photos.”
According to Dunne the whole process of deciding on designs and getting the jerseys to production took over a year and could not have been accomplished without the support of sponsors. “The Denver Gaels have to do a big shout out of thanks to Kevin Fitzgerald, Regional Manager of Pernod Ricard who distribute Jameson, and Mark Maestrofrancesco, Regional Rep Magners Irish Cider. We are very grateful for their help and support.”
