Adam Agee and Jon Sousa are off on a tour of Colorado and New Mexico in October beginning in Fruita on the 11th when they play a free show at the Cavalcade at 7 PM. They move down the road to Healthy Rhythm in Montrose for a 7- 9 PM show on the 12th Tix $13-$18, a house concert on Garvin Mesa in Paonia, 41659 Reds Road, 2:00 Potluck 3:00 PM Concert, Suggested Donation $15, rsvp to firstname.lastname@example.org. On the 14th they’re in the Henry Strater Theater in Durango for 7 PM show, Tix $14 student, $19 adults then cross the border into Albuquerque for a house concert at 7 PM on the 15th RSVP to: email@example.com, Tix $15 and a 7 PM show in the Philip Bareiss Gallery on the 16th in El Prado, finishing with a 7:30 PM show in the GIG Performance Space in Santa Fe on the 17th, Tix $20. They return to Colorado for a 7:30 PM show in The Cloud Station in Crestone with special guests Steve and Trevor Storm on the 18th, a show at a location TBD in Salida on the 19th, a performance in the Coaldale Community Building at 7 PM on the 20th and gigs at a location TBD in Colorado Springs on the 27th and in the Star House in Boulder on the 28th.
Avourneen heads east for 8 PM shows on the 5th and 6th at the Dubliner Pub in Omaha, Nebraska then south on the 20th to play at 7 PM for the Colorado Springs Contra, All About Dance, 2336 Vickers Drive, Colorado Springs. Admission starts at $9. Then they head a bit further south to play for the Boo Camp Contra Dance Festival in Albuquerque from the 26th – 28th. The 2018 Boo Camp features local and regional callers and bands. The schedule will include a Friday night potluck, concert, contra dancing, couples’ dancing, singing, jamming, Camp Gathering, Raffle, and the much adored Boo Ball. In stark contrast, the Pine Creek Tippers play one gig at their home space of The Margarita in Colorado Springs on the 19th from 6:30-9 PM downstairs in the lounge.
Also with a single gig for the month is Wild Mountain who plays at the Sheabeen pub in Aurora from 8 PM – 12 AM on the 5th.
Brian Clancy is on short term injured reserve for October and says that he is “Looking forward to being able to walk up stairs again!” His place on the stage at Jack Quinn’s Alehouse and Pub will be taken by the McDeviants at 7:30 PM on the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. On the 26th, The McDeviants play at Cleats Bar and Grill East in Colorado Springs from 9 PM – 1 AM.
David Migoya, fresh from a stint teaching at the Spanish Peaks International Celtic Music Festival, is now taking on students of the flute and whistle locally. David is a three time All Ireland finalist (twice on the flute) and a 12-time national solo fife champion. Skean Dubh entertains the shoppers at the Boulder Farmers Market from 10 AM – 2 PM on the 13th and from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Old South Pearl Street Farmers Market on the 14th. On the 20th, they play at the Golden City Brewery in Golden from 3-5 PM for the Chili cook-off.
Take Down the Door takes to the road for a performance at the Irish and Celtic Association Showcase in Milwaukee, WI on the 5th at 5:30 PM.
